We have received word (see letter below) that Fitzwater 2000 Community Garden has once again won 1ST place in the City Gardens Contest.

Guess all that work paid off. We now have bragging rights for another year. Our success is also a thank you to everyone, those who: started the garden, contributed towards it, worked to permanently preserve it and continue to maintain our award winning community garden.

The garden is a real asset: it improves the image of our block, is an inspiration to many-those that live here and the folks who walk by, it’s also a token of giving back to nature-in a world of tar and cement it’s an oasis of green and it is an example for the rest of our neighborhood-of what good can be accomplished when people come together.
